College Bound English III

Designed for the college bound student, English III is composed of several units of study which emphasize reading, writing, speaking (listening) in descriptive grammar, the American short story, exposition composition formal speech preparation and first person delivery, formal research paper preparation and composition, preparation for nationally formed college testing programs e.g., PSAT, SAT, and ACT, as well as the exploration of other forms of American literature from colonial times through modern. Silent sustained reading is encouraged while book reports are required. If the student is considering College English 101 and/or College English 102 for dual credit offered through Highland Community College, then this is the class to take in the junior year.
