Induction Process

Induction of new members is in the fall, and includes qualifying juniors and seniors.

The procedure for becoming a member of the National Honor Society is as follows:

A) Any junior or senior with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average is given an application to fill out. If interested, they will detail their involvement in five areas:

1) Co-curricular Activities

2) Leadership Positions

3) Service Activities

4) Other Community Activities

5) Work Experience, Recognition, and Awards

B) At the same time, a list of the same qualified juniors and seniors is given to the faculty. They are asked to evaluate the candidates they have had in class, or are familiar with, in Service, Character, and Leadership.

C) A summary of the students applications and faculty evaluations are given back to the faculty committee to evaluate one last time to narrow the field.

The senior members of the National Honor Society wear a gold cord during the graduation ceremony. Two senior members are also eligible to be nominated, by our members, for the nation-wide National Honor Society Scholarship.
