GrantsRural Education Achievement Program (REAP)
We were selected for this program by the U.S. Department of Education for this school year. The amount granted is $32,959.00. This grant helps fun a portion of three teachers salaeries, this was made available to us thanks to Dr. JosserandStudent Literary Anthology
Thanks to Jennifer Morgan we received a $300 KAMLE (Kansas Association for Middle Level Education) mini-grant in April 2002.Community Learning Center after-school program
We, along with Effingham, McLouth, Valley Falls and Perry-Lecompton school districts, established this program with funding through the U.S. Department of Eduction's 21st Century Initiative. This is made possible by Dr. Jim Wheeler of the NEKESC. The major components of this program are: 1) a focus on strengthening acedemic skills; 2) planned group time with an emphasis on building healthy relationships; and 3) opporunities for widening students' horizons. We have also continued the program this school year with a self-funded JCN Extended School Learning Program at the EMS.Carl Perkins Mini Grant
This grant enables us to send people to attend Kansas Bus Education Association, this fund was written by Cindy Johnson and Sharon Porter in October 2002.
